Sister Toldjah Covers the Backroom Deals

Sister Toldjah has pulled a couple of articles on all of the backroom deals that were done in the name of passing health care. Read it and weep.

Health Care Push

Well, as seems to be the case more frequently among liberals, the nanny-state, in this case, the Obama White House and the Democratically-controlled House and Senate, plan to ignore public sentiment and push through the latest variation of health care reform by the end of next week. Family Research Council listed all of the Democrats who [...]

The Brown Win and, etc.

First, I would like to apologize for being very irregular in my posts this month. Even when I am at work eating lunch, I’m usually trying to get things done for work. And when I go in early to get things done, I’m still doing things for work (for free). But I promise that, from [...]

CBO Estimates Average Premiums for Families Would Rise

The Congressional Budget Office released a report today stating that under the Senate health care reform bill insurance premiums would rise by more than $2000 for the average family when compared to what rates would do if Congress did nothing. American Spectator has more.

There is a Reason She is All Alone

Maine Senator Olympia Snowe is the only Republican to vote for the Baucus health care bill. ABCNews posted the transcript of the interview Charlie Gibson did with Snowe. All I have to say is that there is a reason for the acronym RINO.

NRLC on Abortion Amendments in Health Care

The following is a NRLC press release from yesterday and I apologize for not posting it earlier this morning. It was a crazy day and my laptop was still having problems cooperating with the security protocols on the network at work. I think we have everything straightened out now. National Right to Life says new [...]

Pay Up or Face Jail Time

Apparently, in the Baucus health care bill, if a person fails to pay the $1,900 penalty (tax) for not buying insurance, he or she could face jail time. Teddy Davis, writing on ABCs blog “The Note,” reported that on Thursday, Thomas Barthold, who is the chief of staff for the Joint Committee on Taxation, wrote a [...]

Frank Schaeffer–Christians are the Haters

This is so very sad. Frank Schaeffer’s father was a well-respected apologist for the Christian faith and his son spends his spiritual inheritance promulgating this trash. The protests we are seeing now are not grounded in some kind of “Obamahatred.” In fact, until recently, our president enjoyed a very high approval rate– across the nation– among people in various [...]

NEA Pushes Obama– Not the Arts

From Biggovernment.com you can read the transcript of the conference call involving key arts groups and individuals with members of the Obama administration and a representative from the National Endowment for the Arts. This is troublesome for a number of reasons not least of which is that some of these groups went out within a [...]

Bailout for Newspapers?

The president apparently is entertaining the idea of  bailing out newspapers if they are willing to establish themselves as 501(c)3s. The president noted that we must have better news coverage instead of the unsubstantiated material that we see coming from so many sources. He could start with the White House’s PR on health care reform.

All Obama, All the Time

This Sunday when you change channels on your television, you may feel a sense of deja vu if you are watching Sunday political news programs. President Obama is gearing up to do a major salespitch on healthcare reform and the networks have, once again, come to the president’s aid. The president will be appearing on [...]

If You Want to Know What Health Care “Reform” Will Look Like in Few Years…

Read the Wall Street Journal’s piece on the government’s push to take over students loans. What started out as a “rescue” of the system is now nearly a complete takeover–to the cost of the taxpayer at about $100 billion a year.

Rockefeller Criticizes Baucus Plan

Sen. Jay Rockfeller (D-WV) criticized the Baucus plan because it would create a tax on high end health care plans to help pay for those who are uninsured. From ABCs “The Note”: The Baucus proposal would impose, starting in 2013, a 35 percent excise tax on insurance companies for “high-cost plans” — defined as those [...]

9/12 March on Washington

It was impressive to see: tens of thousands of people descended on Washington and all across the country to protest spending and big government. The handling of health care reform and opposition to it by liberal Democratic leaders has been offensive to many Americans. For a large number of attendees, this was the first time they [...]

Wilson's Outburst

I think Rep. Wilson could have picked a more appropriate place to make his feelings known last night but I don’t believe he was wrong about the coverage of illegal aliens just as I don’t think Obama was truthful about abortion coverage. Why? Because Barack Obama said so in his speech before Planned Parenthood in 2007. He [...]

Obama's Health Care Speech

You can watch his speech here. I’m still working on uploading video through WordPress so I can’t pull a feed and post it just yet. I also apologize for providing a MSNBC feed.
